Sussex School children fly high with the RAF

The Sussex Cricket Board have joined forces with the RAF and the Howzat Learning Centre to bring a day of fun, activities, entertainment and education to over 300 local school children on Thursday 15 June at the County Ground, Hove.

Local schools will be attending a morning or afternoon session and the children will get to see an RAF Harrier GR7 interactive aircraft, tackle the RAF Regiment Climbing Wall (the height of our scoreboard!), have cricket sessions from the professional staff at Sussex CCC, be involved with motivational activities with the RAF Motivational Outreach Team and also have indoor activities with the very successful Howzat Learning Centre.

The day is aimed to motivate and inspire the children, to encourage teamwork and stretch them with varying challenges, but always with the emphasis on fun.

At lunch the children get to take it easy as the RAF Dog Display team takes on the workload demonstrating their various skills and daredevil exploits.

It’s a great team day and the media are most welcome to attend.  We would recommend arriving at the ground by 12.30pm in time for the Dog Display and you are welcome to remain to see the various other activities taking place around the ground.

For further information regarding this event please contact Andy Hobbs, Cricket Development Manager on 012732 827104.

Note: The morning session is from 1000 until 1230 the afternoon session is from 1300 to 1530.

Worcestershire With Elton John - A Night Under The Stars

Worcestershire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce that extra tickets have been released for a Night Under the Stars, with Elton John at New Road on June 11th.

With just over two weeks to go until Elton makes his first ever appearance in Worcester, the event organisers have made a limited number of tickets available for the club to sell directly to would-be concert goers.

The event will see the largest ever attendance at New Road, with Elton playing to 18,500 music fans against the beautiful backdrop of Worcester Cathedral. With so many visitors arriving in the city for the Sunday evening spectacle, Worcestershire CCC has taken a proactive approach towards ensuring that congestion around the venue is kept to an absolute minimum by working closely with local authorities.

Chief Executive, Mark Newton, said, “The Elton John concert is the culmination of twelve month’s preparation, during which time we have worked in conjunction with West Mercia Constabulary and the various Transport Agencies and Groups around the County in a bid to minimise disruption to the roads around Worcester. There are nearly 3,000 car park spaces within a ten minute walk of the ground and nearly all of them will be available on the night.

“With the gates opening at 4pm, over two hours prior to the start of the concert, we are advising all ticket holders to arrive as early as possible and to consider the full range of travel options that are open to them, detailed information about which will be enclosed with tickets.”

A range of tickets, priced between £40 and £100, are on sale now and can be obtained either by visiting reception at New Road 1 or by calling 01905 337921 during office hours.

Online purchases can still be made through www.seetickets.com or www.ticketmaster.co.uk
