South African Dale Steyn Extends Stay at Warwickshire
After successful negotiations with the South African Cricket Board, Warwickshire CCC are delighted to announce that Dale Steyn’s stay with the club has been extended until the 21st June.
Dale was originally due to leave the Club on 4th June but this extension will allow him to play an additional two Friends Provident Trophy matches against Scotland and Durham and the Liverpool Victoria County Championship match against Worcestershire starting on 15th June.
It also means that if the Bears reach the Semi Final of the Friends Provident Trophy on 20th June he will be available for selection. Dale will then fly over to Ireland on 21st June to join up with the South African squad.
Second overseas signing, Paul Harris will make his first appearance for the Club this season in the first of the Bears Twenty20 matches against Somerset on Friday 22nd June.
Commenting on the announcement, Dale said,â€I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Club and am delighted that I’ll be around for these extra fixtures.â€
Mark Greatbatch said, “This is great news as Dale has been a fantastic addition to the squad and has been an integral part of our success so far this season.â€
