Vikram Solanki Awarded Benefit at Worcestershire
Worcestershire County Cricket Club has awarded their Captain, Vikram Solanki, a Benefit Year in 2007. Solanki, who has played 51 One day Internationals for England, made his one day debut for the County in 1993 and his first class debut in 1995.
He has scored over 10,000 runs in first class cricket and recently passed 1,000 runs for the current season. He took over the captaincy of the Club in 2005.
Chief Executive, Mark Newton, says “No-one at the Club deserves a Benefit Year more than Vikram. He is Worcestershire through and through; he is proving to be a very good Captain and is enjoying a terrific season. The Board were delighted to confirm this decision following requests from several Members to award him a Benefit Year.â€
