Kids Free at Sussex County Cricket Club

Following the success of our last NatWest Pro40 at Hove, Sussex County Cricket Club has decided to give free entry to all Under 16s for the remaining home Pro40 games of the 2006 season.

The Sussex Sharks v Lancashire Lightning game saw a crowd of over 3500 enjoying every minute of an exciting and fun-packed game.  Chris Adams took Sussex to victory with two balls to spare and everyone who witnessed this game would vouch for the success of this new format.

The Sussex Sharks play the Essex Eagles on Monday 14 August in a floodlit Pro40 match with play starting at 4.40pm.  It’s the Glamorgan Dragons’ turn to feel our bite on Sunday 20 August in day Pro40 match, which begins at 1.45pm.

MOEEN ALI Contract Renewal & Extension

Following recent approaches from 2 other counties the Club can confirm it has made an offer to Moeen Ali to renew and extend his current contract.

Commenting on the development, Chief Executive, Colin Povey, said, “Mo is a talented and ambitious young cricketer who has come through the ranks here at Edgbaston. We are obviously keen to retain his services and are confident that he can enjoy a good future at Warwickshire. We have made him what we hope will be a very attractive offer for someone at his stage of development although Mo has indicated that he is unlikely to take a decision on his future until the end of the season.”

Further announcements on any planned changes to the playing squad for next season will be made towards the end of September upon completion of individual negotiations.
