Must win game for Surrey in Twenty20

What a great day for Twenty20 cricket. Summer is well and truly here. Blue skies and a hot day have greeted the Brit Oval today for this crucial match between Surrey and Essex.

The loss last night to Sussex means that a win today is crucial to keep Surrey at the top of the South group. The Eagles are fresh off a win last night against Hampshire so Rikki Clarke’s men will have their work cut out.

Why not come down and enjoy an exciting day’s cricket which will finish just in time for you to get yourself to a suitable venue to watch England take on Portugal in their World Cup quarter-final match. Surrey kick-off at 12.30pm and the match is expected to finish at around 3.15pm so you’ll have plenty of time to catch the football, beginning at 4pm.

Surrey will go into day’s match with the same eleven that has played in the first three matches to date.

Surrey captain Mark Butcher will continue to rest his lower back and so Clarke will again captain the Surrey side. The full Surrey side is; James Benning, Ali Brown, Mark Ramprakash, Azhar Mahmood, Rikki Clarke (captain), Jonathan Batty (wicket-keeper), Stewart Walters, Tim Murtagh, Ian Salisbury, Jade Dernbach, Nayan Doshi.

Tickets will be available from the ticket office for just £15. Match begins at 12.30pm and gates open from 10.30am.
