Top stars confirmed for International XI at Brit Oval Pakistan Charity match
A galaxy of international stars have been confirmed for the International XI who will play the touring Pakistan side on 10 July at the Brit Oval, in a charity match to raise money for the victims of the Pakistan earthquake.
The Twenty20 match, beginning at 5.30pm will feature some of cricket’s most exciting players from around the globe, including the world record holding batsman Brian Lara and the enigmatic spin bowler Muttiah Muralitharan, as well as a host of other stars from seven Test playing nations.
All proceeds from the event will go towards helping the victims of the earthquake that struck northern parts of Pakistan in October last year.
Surrey Chief Executive, Paul Sheldon said, “It’s fantastic to have such strong support from all of these magnificent cricketers. The likes of Lara and Muralitharan are huge draw cards, worth the admission prices alone, so we’re expecting a big crowd to come along and watch what should be a hugely entertaining match.”
The match will raise money for the Oval Cricket Relief Trust, which last year raised over £1 million for victims of the Tsunami.
Approximately 10,000 tickets have already been sold for the match and there is still just under four weeks to go. Tickets are available online at www.surreycricket.com for £20.
