Sussex School children fly high with the RAF

The Sussex Cricket Board have joined forces with the RAF and the Howzat Learning Centre to bring a day of fun, activities, entertainment and education to over 300 local school children on Thursday 15 June at the County Ground, Hove.

Local schools will be attending a morning or afternoon session and the children will get to see an RAF Harrier GR7 interactive aircraft, tackle the RAF Regiment Climbing Wall (the height of our scoreboard!), have cricket sessions from the professional staff at Sussex CCC, be involved with motivational activities with the RAF Motivational Outreach Team and also have indoor activities with the very successful Howzat Learning Centre.

The day is aimed to motivate and inspire the children, to encourage teamwork and stretch them with varying challenges, but always with the emphasis on fun.

At lunch the children get to take it easy as the RAF Dog Display team takes on the workload demonstrating their various skills and daredevil exploits.

It’s a great team day and the media are most welcome to attend.  We would recommend arriving at the ground by 12.30pm in time for the Dog Display and you are welcome to remain to see the various other activities taking place around the ground.

For further information regarding this event please contact Andy Hobbs, Cricket Development Manager on 012732 827104.

Note: The morning session is from 1000 until 1230 the afternoon session is from 1300 to 1530.
